Agreement

This license agreement exists so copyright can be transferred to a foundation in the future.

By submitting a contribution to this project, you agree to the following:

1. Ownership. You confirm the contribution is your original work, or that you have the right to submit it under this agreement. If your employer has rights to code you write, you confirm they have permitted this contribution.

2. License grant. You grant Max Malm, his successors and assigns, and all downstream recipients a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, irrevocable license to use, modify, and distribute your contribution.

3. Patent grant. You grant a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, irrevocable patent license covering patents you own or control that are necessarily infringed by your contribution, for use, modification, and distribution of Sigil.

4. Transfer. You grant Max Malm the right to transfer or assign the rights in this agreement to a successor entity established to steward Sigil, provided that entity is bound by the same requirement: Sigil remains licensed under AGPL-3.0 or a later version of the GNU AGPL.

5. You keep your copyright. You retain all rights to your contribution and may use it however you wish elsewhere.

6. No warranty. Contributions are provided "as is", without warranty of any kind.
